My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that every student has the potential to excel on the SAT, and my role is to help them discover and develop that potential. My teaching philosophy centers around three core principles: understanding, practice, and confidence.
Understanding First: Before diving into test-taking strategies, I ensure students truly understand the underlying concepts. Whether it's algebraic principles or reading comprehension techniques, a solid foundation is essential for lasting success.
Targeted Practice: Practice makes perfect, but only when it's purposeful. I provide students with carefully selected practice problems that build upon each other, gradually increasing in complexity as their skills develop.
Building Confidence: The SAT can be intimidating, but confidence is half the battle. I help students recognize their progress, celebrate their achievements, and approach each problem with a positive mindset.
My approach is personalized to each student's learning style and goals. Some students need help with time management, others with specific content areas, and many benefit from test-taking strategies that help them perform their best under pressure.

Example Explanations

Math Problem - Algebra
This problem demonstrates how I break down complex algebraic equations into manageable steps, showing students how to identify patterns and apply systematic approaches to solve even the most challenging problems.

Reading Comprehension - Critical Analysis
Here's how I teach students to analyze passages effectively, identify key themes, and understand the author's intent. This method helps students improve their reading speed while maintaining comprehension accuracy.

Math Problem - Geometry
Geometry problems can seem intimidating, but I show students how to visualize problems and use logical reasoning. This approach helps students tackle even complex geometric proofs with confidence.

Reading Comprehension - Inference
Making inferences is crucial for SAT reading success. I teach students how to read between the lines and draw logical conclusions from the text, improving their critical thinking skills.
